So I know this happened earlier this month, but I just decided that I needed to say something about Obama and his winning of the Nobel Peace prize. Apparently he won the award for “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.” The funniest part about the whole thing is that the nominations for the award needed to be postmarked by February 1st, and thats only 12 days after Obama took office. Can’t really see what he did in that small amount of time to win the Nobel Peace prize, but I guess thats why they don’t have me in the committee of people to decide on that.

I’m not a big fan of Obama as most people that know me already know, but I still support him since he is the US president, and there isn’t really anything I can do about that. I wasn’t happy when he became the president, but I think that we should still support him, since he does have a hard job. The President of the United States is a tremendously difficult role to fill. Everyone seemed to think that the moment that Obama became president everything would get better. But after nothing really changed, I think people realized that George Bush was doing a pretty good job all along. Maybe he wasn’t the best public speaker in the world, but he definitely did a lot for this country, and I think people should be happy for what he did.

Well I’m not happy that Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize especially after only being in office for 12 days when the nominations had to be in. I have the feeling that a lot of the reason why Obama was chosen was because he is African American, and the first one to be the president. I doubt that many people will agree with me.. but that’s how I feel.
