Nowadays all of the Ipods can support video. But who wants to buy the videos from Itunes for $5 or more a piece. It is convenient and fast, but it still does cost money. I recently received an 80 gig Ipod Classic as an early Christmas present. I immediately wanted to fill it but I don’t have 80 gigs of media files on my computer. So I put all 1700 songs that I have on it, and then I wanted to put some videos that I have on it.
To take a DVD and put the movie onto an Ipod I recommend using Magic DVD Ripper. The program does cost, but it has a free trial and you can just uninstall it and reinstall it after the trial is over. It rips the DVD right to an Ipod usable format, and then just add the file to Itunes, and sync with an Ipod.
If you download movies from the internet through torrents, they usually come as .avi files. Also any other videos, such as ones recorded on a digital camera. In order to convert these to play on the Ipod you will need a program to convert them. Probably the easiest program to do that would be Internet Video Converter. To convert the .avi or just about any other video format, just click on the Transcoder and tell it where the file you want to convert is, and into one of the 3 different Ipod options it has. (Any of them will work, they are just higher and lower quality for converted video.) Then click the button that says “Ipod” and then the “Start Conversion” button. It will take about 15-45 minutes to convert the video, depending on the length of the video, and the processor speed of the computer converting it.
After most movies are converted they are between 500 and 700 megabytes. And having a 80 gig Ipod, that will fit a lot of videos. Hope this helps with putting your videos on your Ipod.

Last Thursday I went skiing. I went up to Okemo Mountian in Ludlow, Vermont. The reason that we went skiing there was because my uncle and his family live about five minutes from the mountian.
My dad and I went up on Wendsday Night and stayed overnight. Then on Thursday we went and skied for almost the whole day. The mountian opened at 9:00 in the morning so that is when we started to ski. The whole time that we were there we hardly had to wait at all to get on the lifts. Most of the lifts are high speed quads so they don’t have long lines going to them.
When we went for lunch we went to the mountian that is next to Okemo. They are part of the same resort but they have different names. My uncle said that the food is better at that base lodge and there are less people over there so we decided that we were going to eat there. It costed something like $30 for two of us to have a small lunch. I thought that was a lot because you can get a lot of food from McDonalds for around $10.
The snow was starting to get bad later on in the day so we didn’t stay till the mountian closed. One trail that we went down had huge piles of wet snow that would grab your skies while you would be skiing and make it hard to go in the direction that we wanted to go. So we packed up our skies and left the mountian at 3:00 in the afternoon.
We then went to Clearlake Furniture, the company that my uncle owned, to see some people that we haven’t seen for a while. One of the people that we went to see was my other uncle that works there. Then we went back to my uncles house to pack up our stuff and leave. We left Vermont at around 5:00pm so that we could be back early.
I am going to try and get someone to go skiing with me before the end of the skiing season this year. If I can go skiing then it would be good because I have only gone skiing 4 times this year and would like to go a few more times.
Last weekend I went up to my Aunts and Uncles house in Vermont. They live in Ludlow and about 5 minutes away from Okemo Mountian. I went up there because I wanted to learn how to ski. We went skiing all day Saturday from around 8:30 to 3:00. It was awesome. I have never really tried to ski but I wanted to learn because it seems really fun and my cousin is one of the top ski racers in Vermont. Then I can go to his races and I won’t have to walk to it.
I can now ski somewhat. I still haven’t skied that much so I need to go more before I am good at it. I think that I try and go up to my Aunt’s and Uncle’s again this winter sometime to go skiing.
